Biography

Stef Mariani is a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning singer-songwriter based in Hawai‘i whose genre-crossing sound moves between folk, Americana, pop and acoustic rock. Her album Stay Gold earned Hawai‘i’s highest music honor for Best Alternative Album in 2018, and she is a three-time Big Island Music Award winner, including Rock Album of the Year.

A third- and fourth-generation musician raised in Santa Cruz, California, Mariani has called Hawai‘i home for more than a decade. She is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts (NARAS), which presents the Grammy Awards, and of HARA, the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts behind the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards.

Known for performances at venues including Blue Note Hawaii and The Grafton on Sunset, she brings a warm, commanding stage presence to solo acoustic sets and full-band shows alike. She is also the founder of Stay Gold Hawaii, a nonprofit supporting working artists across the islands.
